HSE Coordinator Vacancy

One of the largest Oil and Gas exploration and production Company in Nigeria is in search for a HSE COORDINATOR.

Job Description.
The primary purpose of this role to ensure and enforce the Implementation of Company’s HSE policies and programmes aimed at Incident Prevention and to provide advisory support to all departments towards ensuring Operational and industrial Compliance..

Responsibilities.
  • Effectiveness of Incident Prevention Programmes.
  • Development/Execution of Annual Corporate HSE programs (Setting Challenging Goals and Drive Achievement).
  • Level of Compliance with Statutory Regulations and Company Policies.
  • Maintenance of Auditable HSE Statistics, Safe Work procedures and
  • Implementation of relevant company policies.
  • Achieve 100% regulatory Compliance.
  • Coordination of Periodic HSE Audits of operations and Closure of Action Points.
  • Timeliness of Implementation of “Lesson’s Leant” from Incident investigations and recommendations from facility/Operations HSE audit exercises.
  • Company Focal Point on field HSE Matters
  • Liaison with Regulatory Agencies, Interpret existing statutory regulations and advice Company on Potential impact of Re/Emerging regulations of Operations.
  • Participate in Facilities Design Reviews and HAZOPS.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experienced in HSE stewardship; risk assessment; regulatory matters, and HSEMS
  • Effective coaching: communicating performance expectations to workers.
  • Good organizational skill: initiative to manage a diverse workload of changing priorities and ability to maintain continuity in times of organizational change.
  • General Knowledge and Technical Skills
  • Sound knowledge of HSE-MS administration, HSE statutory regulations and applicable codes of practice.
  • Cognate experience and management of HSE in the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.
  • Sound knowledge of Auditing, Environmental quality standards,
  • Environmental laws regulations and permits processes
  • Skilled Project management techniques, including business planning and evaluation
  • Experience in facilities and operations auditing.
  • Sound knowledge of Emergency Response Plans preparation and reviews.
  • Team player, resourceful and compliance oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong focus on Enterprise First (ensuring close alignment with other company businesses)
  • Passion, drive and commitment for HSE performance excellence
  • Good analytical ability and keen sense of reality
  • BSc/HND in Science/Engineering with minimum of 10 years relevant experience
Training/Certification:
NEBOSH, IOSH
Lead Auditor Certification in ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO9001.
Skilled in Process Safety
And Other certificate in Safety Management
The ideal candidate must have school certifications (BSc/ HND in Petroleum, mechanical or chemical engineering) and professional qualifications.
